NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY OF ICELAND

on 17th of Juin I wake up early to spent all day in Rekjavik and see how Icelandic people feel this day!

It was raining a lot so I decided to go to drink a coffee in TeogKaffi and buy a little flag and feel the colours of this country that is giving me a lot of good things since I arrived .

The main streets as Laugavegur and Austræti were full of people selling candies and sweets for childrens and flags .

For the first time I saw this yellow bike in Laugavegur, so that means that this street is gonna be pedestrian all summer!

At 12 o'clock started the parade flags up the rhyhtm of the anthem of Iceland from Austurvöllur square until the cementery of Reykjavik.
In front of the Parliament I saw some children singing typical Icelandic songs and a families wearing the typical dresses  as some yeas ago.

Later I saw the parade of classic cars in Laugavegur.

And some children activites !

Finally in front of Harpa there was a little concert of Pollapönk, the funny guys who representing Iceland in Eurovision contest.

Have a nice Friday !!

REYKJAVIK'S FLOWER DAY

Today, 14th of Juin it's the flower day in Reykjavik! So, you'll find a lot of boys and girls giving flowers and fruits for free to the people walking through the streets.

Icelandic people are singing and playing instruments all morning.

I found an impromptu flea market in the middle of Laugavegur, the main street of Reykjavik!

In this photo you can see which kind of clothes they are selling, all clothes are second hand and vintage.

Going down the street there's Austurstræti street where I found more people selling icelandic products, like pictures, children's clothes and modern necklaces.

Have a nice saturday !

THE GOLDEN CIRCLE CLASSIC

Today I want to show you one of the most famous and beautiful tours of Iceland, the Golden Circle!

The bus of Iceland Excursions (Grayline) left at 8.30 in the morning from the city center of Reykjavik and we start by driving to Nesjavellir, one of the biggest geothermal area near Þingvallavatn's lake.

We went throught the same road that Ben Stiller slides with skateboard in The Secret Live of Walter Mitty's movie.

In this photo you can see the smoke of the geothermal area and the lake at the end .

Welcome to þingvellir National Park, Unesco's world heritage where Icelandic parliament Alþingi was founded by Vikings in year 930 AD.
Here you'll find the tectonic plates that separate United States and Europe continents.

There's a really nice and calm  place to go for a walk and spend all day enjoying these views and discover little waterfalls during the tour.

After that we went to Gullfoss waterfall, the loudest but most charming I've been since I've come to Iceland. If you don't believe me just look this couple in love !

I'm feeling like the luckiest girl of the world to have the opportunity to live in this country and discover all this magic places.

One of the places that I had more desire to see, Geysir!!! Yes, I couldn't believe that I was there and only watch the incredible movements of water.
One stays there freaking colors tried to see if there's an elf underground with a hose!

We stopped in Skálholt where I saw the typical grass house where Icelandics lived in the past and in Faxi waterfall!
